A native of Beaver City, Nebraska, John C. Snyder received his B.S. in 1929 from Ohio State. He continued his education at Iowa State receiving an M.S. in 1930 and a Ph.D. in 1932. Beginning at Washington State University in 1934 as a horticultural specialist, Dr. Snyder served in that capacity for over thirty years before his retirement in 1965.
